Part time (0.4) temporary position on Vancouver Regional Pediatric Team commencing July 2012.
The Vancouver Regional Pediatric Team consists of nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and a social worker. We are a dynamic team providing services to children (0-19 years old) with physical, neurological and developmental challenges and those who require episodic care. Our goal is to help children living in Vancouver to lead active healthy lives in their schools and in their communities.
The physiotherapist works with clients in the community providing assessment, consultation, education, training and intervention services. Short term therapy is provided for acute episodic clients. The physiotherapist is also responsible for developing a careplan for children with complex health needs and collaborates with families, interdisciplinary team members and educational agencies to achieve excellence in health services and education.
Bachelorís degree or diploma in Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation from a recognized school or university, with a minimum of two years recent related pediatric experience in a community setting; care management experience, clinical experience in assessment of children with physical/neurological/developmental problems, implementation of functional therapy programs and experience with equipment issues, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Registration in the College of Physical Therapists of B.C. and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage reimbursement is paid, and valid B.C. Driverís license.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate is required.
